Welcome to El Paso Adventist Junior Academy!
We are a private, Seventh-day Adventist day school serving elementary school and middle school students in grades Kindergarten through 12th, located in El Paso, TX.
Since 1920, El Paso Adventist Junior Academy has invested in educating our student’s mind, body, and spirit for eternity. EPAJA exists to show children Jesus, nurture their love for Him and others, teach them to think, and empower them to serve. We strive for academic excellence and character development. To accomplish that objective we provide a safe learning environment where our students feel empowered to achieve their academic goals and develop a closer, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
THE ACADEMIC LIFE at El Paso Adventist Junior Academy (EPAJA) includes a comprehensive and student-focused approach to learning.
EPAJA’s academic life is built on team teaching; rotating students through subject-specific classrooms like science, social studies, math, and English. We serve kindergarten to high school students, ensuring academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth in a safe environment, all grounded in standards-based education aligned with academic benchmarks.
1.Team Teaching: Students rotate through different classrooms, each led by a teacher specializing in a specific subject, such as science, mathematics, English and social studies. This method fosters creativity and ensures a focused learning environment.
2.Grade Levels: Education is offered from kindergarten through high school, catering to a wide range of age groups and developmental stages.
3.Core Curriculum: A strong emphasis on academic excellence is paired with character development and spiritual growth aiming for a holistic education.
4.Technology Integration: The school includes modern teaching tools to enhance the learning experience.
5.Standards-based learning is an approach to education that focuses on helping students meet specific academic standards set by educational authorities. These standards define the knowledge and skills students should acquire at each grade level in various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts.
The approach includes:
- Clear Learning Goals: Teachers align their lessons and assessments with the standards to ensure students are learning what they are expected to.
- Ongoing Assessments: Students’ progress is measured against the standards, allowing educators to identify areas that need improvement. To know more about our testing visit www.org/familytoolkit
- Consistent Expectations: It ensures that all students, regardless of school or region, have access to the same high-quality education.
Essentially, the Standards-based approch provides a structured framework that prioritizes learning outcomes over traditional methods, ensuring students are prepared for higher education and careers.

These experiences are designed to foster compassion, broaden cultural awareness, and encourage community service, while empowering students to live out their faith by helping others. Through these trips, students can engage in meaningful outreach projects that create lasting impacts locally and globally
3.Character Development: Spiritual growth is intertwined with cultivating values like kindness, integrity, and responsibility.
4.Daily Devotionals, Chapel, and Weeks of Prayer: Moments of reflection and prayer are built into the school day to reinforce spiritual learning.
EPAJA’s approach encourages students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus and empowers them to serve both their local community and beyond.
